“I’ve never been on that site love… erm it must be a virus”!

Politicians. Great aren’t they? The on-going expenses row is rumbling on. One got a second house just a few minutes away from his first and there are others ‘extracting the urine’, but one story this week has made people laugh and angry in equal measures.

I’m not going to spoil a journalists dream of a story to whinge about politicians and their misuse of their expenses, if you want to read that I’m sure the Daily Mail is having a 40-page pull out on the issues blaming immigrants, the labour party and David Beckham.

If you’ve not heard this story, Home Secretary Jaqui Smith’s husband put two pornographic films on her list of expenses.

The story goes that he downloaded several pay-per-view movies while his wife was away on government business, added them to the expenses form and didn’t stop to think that two of them were hardcore porn.  Take away the press coverage and what you have is a story many men have experienced first erm… hand. Being caught by your partner watching porn. but of course those websites you got caught on were pop-ups or adverts that opened after you googled “romantic weekends away” (I’ve got to be careful here as I could start to sound like the voice of experience)

However most people are surely not stupid enough openly admit to viewing porn by putting it in writing are they? Or is that what a freshly deleted history and temporary Internet files is? And to quote one Mr Michael McIntyre

“I think i’ll use the Internet”

“ONE SECOND… It umm needs fixing love”

“WOW, it looks like no-one has ever used it”

For most ‘normal’ people watching porn while your partner is away means that you have to spend at least one night sleeping on the sofa but only after ducking and dodging the barrage of cutlery and crockery that come your way. For Mr Home Secretary he has to publicly admit not only has he been found out he watching  porn, he also was stupid enough to watch Ocean’s 13. Twice.
