Okay, so were already into the second generation of Microsoft’s ad scheme, its always amazed me that this multi-billion dollar company has sat on its ass this long while Steve Jobs and the rest of apple throw shit over the fence on their garden, but hey who am I to talk business strategy.
Well, phase one was a total waste of my viewing time, with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld (you remember him right, the dude of that show about 10 years back, kinda forget what its called !!!)… Ill cut right past the usual pleasantry and give you my honest opinion… ‘WTF’ yea, i think that about sums it up… Not a clue what these adverts had to do with promoting Microsoft products at all, kinda reminded me of them car adverts we see occasional where its a minute long video of the woods, or two squirrels humping, then right at the end it fades to a logo of Ford or Audi, scary eh !
If the concept of Bill & Jerry coming to live with you scared you as much as it did me, im sure you were happy to see they had been ditched (thus backing up my belief that Jerry is and has never been funny, and Steve jobs has the style and charisma of an upside down turtle….)
Alas this has opened the doors to Microsoft’s new attempt at this, which so far im at a loss to totally understand.

But i cant say im completely surprised that Microsoft’s new ad scheme is so bloody complicated it needs a manual to understand it, i mean everything else they make requires one, so why not stuff on the tele… I say ‘Well Done’ for creating something that costs $300 Million dollars which no-body understands and no-body cares about, its a true act of genius, and as we all know true genius is never recognised in its own time, so maybe bill and Jerry will be kind enough to drive off a cliff so we can re-watch the ad’s and finally understand what they are actually talking about !!!
Im a 23 year old, living in the Midlands of England, recently finished studying my Masters in Network Systems Engineering at Plymouth Uni, and currently enjoying the freedom of the real world !
